Capitol Theatre 90th Anniversary

One of Canada’s only remaining “Atmospheric Theatres”, the Capitol opened as a 380-seat talking-picture house in 1930.  Fully restored to its original splendour, it has since evolved into one of Ontario’s leading Regional Theatres presenting Live Professional Theatre, Live Concerts, Films from the Toronto International Film Festival, HD Opera Live from the MET and much more.  You will experience entertainment while sitting comfortably in a Nordic Castle Courtyard complete with twinkling stars in a blue evening sky. https://capitoltheatre.com/

Our Task

90 Years is a long time for any business these days. So for Cats Media to be asked to develop the collateral and overall look for Port Hope’s Capitol Theatre 90th Anniversary Celebration, we very honoured. Colourful anniversary logos were developed utilizing the colours from the Capitol’s sign. The logos were applied to various pieces including commemorate popcorn tins, tags, automobile signs, flyers as well as sliders on their website. A large backdrop was also procured for photographic purposes as was a 7 foot thermometer graphic unveiled from the theatre’s exterior balcony! The event was a rousing success. Bring on the 100th!
