I joined Pinterest a few year ago because I was really curious what the buzz was about … I was pleasantly surprised and I gained a new best friend out of the deal.
It’s my online visual island.
Here’s my quick rundown - you can use Pinterest to share your work. With blogs, personal websites and online portfolios, many designers/creatives work hard to create their online brand. Pinterest provides an additional outlet for this. It is a place where you can easily store and share your artwork, allowing the world to see what you are capable of. Pinterest acts as a personalized media platform.
It’s is also a great place to share concepts and amazing work.
We all love finding books, websites and articles that help further develop our career. Now, when you find something that you found helpful, you can “Pin” it and show other designers that it’s worth a look.
It’s a great platform to showcase your work as a business or just for your personal brand with an ecclectic group.
Here is a place where I can source inspiration when working on a project.
Here I can learn new ideas and share new ideas.
Here myself and other creatives can can upload, save, sort, and manage imagery— aka “pins”—and other media content (e.g., vids) through collections aka “pinboards”.
Here I can get lost - with my people … I must admit - I’m a bit of a Pinterest junkie, it helps me chill out when I need a break.
